Archant Awards Ceremony - Motivaction

The concept behind the event was to turn a conventional awards ceremony for 1200 guests into an outdoor music festival featuring multiple bands and DJs across several venues. The event was held in the grounds of Audley End House, an English Heritage property near Saffron Walden in Essex.

Anagram provided the main stage, a large truck-based Alpha Stage. This allowed the event to be rigged quickly and provided a large stage area for rapid band changeovers.

A multi-camera shoot using wireless and static cameras and a track-based dolley system at the front of the stage was displayed on a large outdoor LED screen along with computer text and graphics for the awardsarchant13 part of the event.

Anagram’s experience in both corporate and entertainment sound enabled us to design a sound system using d&b C7 that sounded great for both requirements and worked for an audience space that was wide rather than deep. Weather concerns due to the time of year meant that covered viewing from marquees behind the main audience area was provided, so there were multiple areas under cover that required additional sound reinforcement to supplement the main stage sound. BSS Soundweb was used to control the additional areas and to align them with the sound from the main stage.

Two of the viewing marquees also had disco sound and lighting rigs to allow the action to move indoors after dark when the main stage had finished.

The main stage featured a comprehensive rock festival lighting rig using bars of PAR cans and intelligent lights, MAC500s and MAC600s, controlled from an Avolites Pearl desk. Additionally, the façade of Audley end house was lit with exterior colour changing fixtures, CityColours, to highlight the architecture and provide a beautiful backdrop to the main stage.

The site had no power so Anagram installed four generators and archant10associated power distribution to supply the production on the main stage and the marquees.

Luckily on the day the weather was warm and sunny with no rain!
