The invisible yet vital part of every event is sound. Whether it is the ability to hear and understand a presentation, follow an awards ceremony or listen to a band - if the sound is poor then the event won't be a success.
For conferences, good sound will be unnoticeable - the audience will simply be able to hear the presenter and may not even be aware that there is amplified sound at all. For music events, sound may take a more centre-stage role helping to convey the passion of the performers or build and sustain atmosphere and excitement in an awards ceremony. Either way, it's clear that good sound is vital.
For conference sound reinforcement, an unobtrusive system that can provide good speech intelligibility is needed. This can be challenging to achieve as a large proportion of conference venues have serious acoustic or architectural issues making sound engineering expertise vital to achieving a good result. Music events present different challenges to conferences and companies that only provide conference sound are often not aware of the issues. Anagram have always provided sound reinforcement for a wide range of event types and so have experience across the entire spectrum.
In addition to indoor events, we can provide large-scale sound reproduction for outdoor concerts and events. We typically use modern line-array systems such as d&b Q or J series for this application as these allow coverage of a large audience area with a compact system.
Digital Sound
We have been using digital signal processing and control for several years in our system designs. Tools such as BSS Soundweb connected to wireless computer networks allow us to walk around the venue with a laptop PC and adjust the overall system response in real time to achieve the very best sound quality everywhere.
Recently digital mixing desks have become properly affordable and usable too, so we have added Yamaha M7CL and LS9 desks to our inventory. These can also connect to a computer network so we can control everything from a laptop in the audience!
A high proportion of our projects have a complete seamless integration of conference sound and event sound, usually where a conference is followed by a gala dinner with awards or an artist performing. We are experienced in taking all the conflicting requirements, the artist technical riders and budget constraints and designing a system that works for all parts of the production.
